Purpose
The Director, Policy & Governance (D/P&G) is a senior administrative officer of the University who will lead a team to oversee the University’s corporate governance and policy development and ensure that UAS Ltd complies with its Constitution, all relevant laws, regulations and compliance processes and regimes. He/ she will also lead, plan and assume overall responsibility for coordinating and driving long-term institutional planning and building efforts across divisions/teams. The D/P&G reports to the Chief Operating Officer (COO).

Key Roles & Responsibilities
To work directly with the University’s senior leadership (Vice-Chancellor (VC) and COO) to:
  • Provide integrated policy analysis and strategic input on major issues of institutional importance, relating to the University’s growth, performance and development.
  • Liaise with the Ministry of Education (MOE) and other local government agencies in areas related to University development, policy and planning.
  • Coordinate policy development across divisions/teams in support of the University’s vision and strategic goals, as directed by VC and COO.
  • Work closely with relevant stakeholders to drive long-term institutional planning efforts and promote change management strategies within the University and across divisions/teams.
  • Provide secretariat support for the University’s Board of Trustees and ensure the smooth implementation of the various Board Committees.
  • Design, plan and incubate new areas of work that supports the long-term strategies for the University, as directed by the VC and COO.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned.

This is a supervisory role.

Requirements
  • Extensive policy development and corporate governance experience in a large organisation, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Can envision, clearly define issues and has a good sense of perspective on the big picture and longer-term interests of the University.
  • Able to forge relationships, build networks and engage people from diverse backgrounds, and work towards a common understanding with stakeholders.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity, action-focused, and willing to explore new ideas.
  • Strong interpersonal, analytical, quantitative as well as written and oral communication skills.

Purpose
  • The Academic Planning Office (APO) is responsible for the development and administration of the University of the Arts Singapore’s (UAS) IN-depth Programme. In addition, the APO is also responsible for the development and implementation of the External Examining system which facilitates continuous improvement on the UAS-approved programmes. Finally, the APO, in partnership with the arts institutions, will help develop the UAS International Engagement Strategy and set up university-level partnerships to facilitate staff and students collaborations on research and projects, and most importantly, student semestral exchanges.
Key Roles & Responsibilities

Supports the Academic Planning Office in the following:

  • Assist in the development, planning, and review of the UAS IN-depth Programme
  • Manage the delivery of the UAS IN-depth curriculum, which involved timetabling, sourcing and hiring of lecturers, and monitoring the delivery
  • Manage the student sign-ups and completion of the UAS IN-depth curriculum
  • Develop and manage the student feedback mechanism to track the effectiveness of the UAS IN-depth Programme for continual improvement
  • Develop and plan the UAS External Examining system to help facilitate continuous improvement on the UAS-approved programmes
  • Manage the logistical arrangements for External Examiners to be on-campus to sample works, and moderate and/or confirm marks.
  • Review External Examiners’ Reports and work with relevant programmes to respond to suggested improvements
  • Manage all institutional visits and set up university-level partnerships to facilitate staff and students’ collaborations on research and projects, and most importantly, student semestral exchanges
  • Administer incoming and outgoing student semestral exchanges and internships with international partners

Requirements
  • A Bachelor’s degree from an established university.
  • At least 7 years and above or equivalent of relevant curriculum planning and/or administration experience, in an Institute of Higher Learning.
  • Strong ability to think critically and analytically, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Intellectual curiosity, with strong interest in developments in higher education and tertiary arts education.
  • Good interpersonal skills with a collaborative mindset.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

Key Roles & Responsibilities Key roles and responsibilities include:
  • Coordinate and facilitate career-related workshops and electives for students across all levels and disciplines.
  • Manage and respond to career training requests from constituent institutions, ensuring effective coordination and smooth delivery.
  • Oversee the administration and tracking of the Career Skills module, including monitoring student completion and maintaining accurate records.
  • Plan, organise, and execute career-related events such as Career Fairs, Bootcamps, Portfolio Reviews, and Industry Networking Sessions.
  • Support the promotion and publicity of all career-related events and activities across relevant platforms.
  • Maintain and regularly update the online career portal with relevant learning resources, career tools, and job opportunities.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the Reporting Officer to support the overall objectives of the team.
Requirements
  • Minimum a Bachelor's degree in any discipline.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Service-oriented, outgoing personality, and a strong team player.
  • Excellent collaboration and time management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and social media platforms.
